Today, LSU's BOS will give Joe Alleva a raise, in the midst of one of the worst weeks in LSU sports. Do it on a Friday, while few are paying attention. Trent Johnson, will also get a 1 year extension, assuring that LSU Men's Basketball will be horrid for at least one more season. Miles contract will be extended as well. Miles to his credit, has been handling many difficult situations, alone. It has been noted by more than a few, that Miles has had to field questions that should be answered directly by the LSU A.D. who has seemingly vanished. Where is LSU Athletic Director, Joe Alleva? Someone covering "Hell Week at LSU", suggested Alleva is hiding under his desk, which is probably just as well. What LSU athletic programs have improved under Joe Alleva? Interesting article, written more than 5 years ago. Fire Joe Alleva | The Chronicle
Aleva being unheard and unseen is a good thing. We've already seen how he performs when he is front and center in these situations. I'm still in the dark on how he ever got hired by LSU. What he has done to deserve a raise is less clear than the mystery surrounding area 51.
i dont want alleva and his trigger happy self any where near this mess and the team. i trust miles to be fair to the players AND do what is right for the university. (miles is earning every penny this past week.) i would however, like to see our bos, steal back whatever photos alleva has on them, so they can shytcan his worthless ass yesterday.
i guess mine didnt come across. i am agreeing with you. (i read the same thing early on.) he is still raising money. (as in the fees.) i dont think he cares where he gets it, just son long as he does.
I'm sorta unfazed by Alleva. He just doesn't do anything for me...nor does he get my blood boiling. I mean, I guess I thought since our football program is pretty self-sustaining, and so is baseball, that when Alleva was brought in from Duke, my natural reaction was: "Ok. Good hire. He'll obviously focus on getting LSU basketball consistant and relevant!" ....I was dead wrong. We've gone in the complete opposite direction and our bball program is utter shambles. For what it's worth, Joe Dean used to get my dad's blood pressure skyrocketting! I actually liked Skip (though a lot of people don't give him enough credit I suppose).
I was very worried when The Skipper left. He's a WINNER, plain and simple. I've never gotten that vibe from Alleva. He's just another suit.
