La Tech just completed a 4-game sweep of the defending CWS Champs, Fresno State, in Ruston. I took my 8 year old step-son to the first game Saturday. Tech was down 9-6 in the bottom of the 9th when Fresno's pitcher lost the strikezone. He walked the bases loaded and they pulled him. A routine single to right field was missed by the right fielder and Tech tied it up 9-9 with the winning run on 3rd base and the clean-up hitter stepping into the box. Tech's clean-up hitter sent a pitch high into centerfield and over the fence for a 2-run, walk-off homer to win Game 1. I know it's NOT LSU baseball, but it was still an awesome experience.
