Miles did a great job keeping most of the in state talent at LSU. If they want to leave the state, then it is better for them to go to another conference. Here is a breakdown of LA players signing with other SEC schools: Bama, 1, Davis 4 star Kent, 1, Dufrene 2 star Miss St, 1, Williams 3 star Tenn, 1, Melancon, 4 star Ole Miss 5, one 2 star, three 3 stars, one 4 star (what was he thinking?) Auburn, 0 FL, 0 Ark, 0 Vandy, 0 S Car, 0 Ga, 0 Great job coaches!:thumb:
Tenn actually got two guys from La....Melancon and Paige (4 star WR out of Sterlington) I know we did not recruit Paige...so I am guessing that is why you didn't mention him? ...but you are exactly correct; Coach Miles and his recruting staff did an outstanding job this year. When does spring practice begin?
Thanks for the correction, I went through it pretty quick and just missed him. :geauxtige I don't know about spring practice, can someone else field this question?
15 of Miles 25 recruits were from out-of-state. He didn't have to go for every blue chip in Louisiana. There wasn't any room.
I think we should do away with recruiting and force all high school football players to sign with their state university. Then we would REALLY play LSU against Mississippi or Alabama, and see whose really the best! Of course, playing Texas, Florida and California would be tough! I think the world needs a good reorganization!!!
yea. Melancon and Davis were the only two that we really went after, and we had Davis for a while. But since he will likely not be eligible to play, he was no big loss, particularly when you consider we were able to replace him with Phelon Jones. A great trade-off.
