I think Kyle was the so overlooked by many LSU fans while he was here. He never got the recognition he deserved because he was on a defense with such notable playmakers as Spears, Hill, Turner, Daniels, Webster, Landry, etc. However he has likely been the most consistent and best performer in the NFL.
Because he doesn't speak all that well and is not comfy in front of the camera. He's a grinder but a badass player. The fans recognized it. Just not the hype a flashier guy woulda gotten I suppose. Our best defensive player in the modern area may be a guy who went undrafted. Ryan Clark.
He also doesn't look like a great athlete. He's received high praise for years now in the NFL. I don't watch Bills games very often but he must be doing something right. In the Saints game, he looked like he took a tough blow but only missed a play or two and was back in there fighting hard.
He just never got the fanfare those other guys did. We were watching the Saints game Sunday in a bar and a lot of people didn't even know who he was. I was amazed.
Clark will end up in front of a camera once his playing days are over. Another is Todd McClure, 7th rounder, look at the Falcons since he's gone.
