is retiring, i think the dude still has it, but its his decision. One of the classiest guys in the history of professional sports, and to me, a Hall of Famer. What do you guys think, is he a hall of famer?
two MVPs and a ring. he gets in. (plus two other SB appearances with two different teams and another top 3 MVP finish)
It's tough because he played twelve season of which 6 would be considered first ballot HOF and the other six were marginal and he was even a backup at times. And it was disjointed. Two seperate three year stretches with huge numbers. In the end, I think he gets in because of his off the field persona. He was great for the game and that counts for something.
The guy has dominated every time he plays. When he was a backup, it was because the teams he played for wanted to start their young top draft picks (Eli Manning & Matt Leinart). He played well in NY but they decided they wanted Manning to start since he was the future. He was one great throw by Big Ben away from cementing his place in history.
At the age of 24 Warner was bagging groceries in a supermarket somewhere in Iowa. To go from there to quarterbacking two abysmal franchises like the Rams and the Cardinals to the Superbowl is HOF worthy. Supermarket to Superbowl
proof that it takes more than talent to be successful. (jamarcus, are you paying attention?) hard work combined with talent got warner where he is. laziness and indifference combined with talent got jr benched.
