Apology excepted, and thank you! To everyone else, I was doing nothing more than giving credit to Coach Les Miles. I was not making excuses. Both teams have a great deal of talent, but one of the two coaches had his team ready to win. It's clear which coach did the better job. It was a TEAM victory for LSU, from top to bottom. Congratulations! Regarding Tidefans.com. I am a regular, and they run a very tight ship. No smack, no cursing, ... I was disappointed that they would not let LSU fans post after the game. I thought that was a mistake. But, I don't run the board. Never the less, it is a refreshing change from most sports boards that have run amok. (this one not included!) You have a great team this year, and should have a killer team next year. Be carefull though, the year following a MNC can be a trap. Y'all take care and enjoy the rest of the season.
I'm not a coach, just an avid fan. But I do feel like Bama was playing "tight" for the better part of the game, especially on offense. Now, that may be because LSU was playing so well on D. I could phrase it in many different ways, but the bottom line is that your D beat our O! Plain and simple, in the end that is all that matters.
Like a lot of vocal guys here, too, unfortunately. Little difference, really. Both have "fans" that live Ina world of suspended reality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Alabama! you have to excuse these guys and try to understand. For two weeks before the game, LSU fans had to listen to how LSU didn't have a chance against Bama. Then after LSU beat Bama, we had to listen to "LSU didn't beat Bama, Bama beat themselves". So to say they're a little frustrated is like saying the sun is a little warm. I have read tons of articles about how Bama beat themselves. I've only read one that talked about how LSU beat Bama. Every one is entitled to their opinion but I believe LSU is the better team. They have more depth at every position. Not to mention special teams. I was one of the LSU fans that was banned from Tidefans.com. I can't imagine this board making the statement "No more posts from Bama fans, the post will be deleted and the poster will be banned". In fact, I've lurked on this forum for years and I've never seen anything like that. TideFans admin did nothing but embarrass not only the site, but also Bama fans in general. I'm one of the few on this forum that actually wants a rematch in New Orleans. I welcome it. Good luck to the rest of your season.
Cade, there is no need for you to excuse your fellow fans. LSU had the better team that day. If we played the same teams, and coaching staffs, for 10 games, then LSU would probable be ahead 6-4. My hope is that Saban will learn from this experience. Coach Saban is very intense. It's just his nature. There's is nothing wrong with that as long as he has good intentions. He is not very different than Coach Miles. In my opinion, they both want the best for their players, they drive them hard, they both expound the virtues of player development, as well as character development. What I believe that Saban lacks, relative to Coach Miles, is the fact that football is a game to be enjoyed by the fans, the coaches, and the players. Of course, most of the fans (of both schools) just want to win, the coaches have a job to do, but the players, most of them are there because they love the game (I believe most of them realize that they are not going to the NFL, they are not stupid). Sorry for the rant.
What's your assessment of tonight's game against Miss. St.? The way I see it both LSU and Bama under-performed. I think both teams beat the **** out of each other last week and it showed tonight. A testament to hard-nosed SEC football. No tightness just soreness and bruises.
Bama has a funny history against MSU. We have almost always been the stronger team, but MSU plays us TOUGH, and sometimes comes up with the win. A noted win for MSU; 1980: MSU beats Bear Bryants Crimson Tide, 6-3 after UA comes from a championship season and is riding a 28 game winning streak. I also attended a win in the 90's at their stadium, I don't recall the year, but Bama was beating everyone, and MSU beat a very good Gene Stallings team. I have a lot of respect for MSU, for whatever reason, they can lose 9 games a year, but take Bama to the wire. It's funny, Vandy used to do the same thing to us. Cade, in my previous post I meant to say I "accept" your apology, not "except" your apology. My mom was a stickler for grammar, she would have been appalled to see how lazy I have become.
