Prior to the LSU-Bama game I saw several posts regarding Saban having UA "would too tight" for this game. I have to admit, I think they are right. UA players seemed to be very tense, too afraid to make a mental error, and not ready to just make a play. Obviously, a player has to play his position correctly, and be in position to make a play. But in retrospect, the Bama players seemed to be playing tight. What's funny about that is that it not only kept them from making more plays, but it also resulted in them being out of position on key plays. They were thinking too much and not reacting fast enough. I like Coach Saban, and think he is doing an outstanding job. But I tip my hat to Coach Miles for having his players more ready for that big game.
Saban ain't going anywhere, man ... he's a high-suction lamprey attached by a $6 Million umbilical ... He'll suck every last crimson drop outta Bama's Athletic Budget before he busts out and leaves 'em flat ... that's years away from now after he's schooled again by his Daddy Les ... mark it! The Poster stated that Bama played "tight" ... and he's correct ... Saban has been a maniac this season ... did you see the sideline antics ... All this "tension" is passed along to the players ... Bama never had a chance against LSU's "Cool Breeze Unit" ... I'm amazed they even kept LSU to 9 This was Saban's last "pop" at a BCSCG for a couple of years ... back to mediocrity next year with heavy graduation as he has few younger developed players .... Miles outcoaches him there also ... until he can get a QB, BAMA and Saban will always be sucking Les' tailpipe :hihi:
I don't necessarily think that AMAB was tight, but they didn't know how to deal with two advantages LSU had. The first was that LSU's defense was better when the field got short. All of Alabama's statistical advantage was from passing on their end of the field. When they got inside the LSU 35, the back-up lights came on pretty quick. The AMAB run game was out rushed by LSU and was completely ineffective when it was needed. The second was that the depth of LSU kept AMAB from ever really asserting their will like they are used to. In fact, by the end of the game, the AMAB offense was completely gassed, and the LSU defense was relatively fresh. That's why AMAB tried three pass plays in overtime. Both of these are based on specific coaching decisions Les Miles made in the offseason. The particulars of the game aren't where Les out-coached Nick. That happened in February and March. GEAUX TIGERS
Les Miles at this very moment has the best winning percentage out of any head coach of a BCS team since 2005.
Yep! Can the gumps spell A..U..B..U..R..N? This year's barner season is a glimpse into the future of Bama next year. Saban knows how to develop a young team--no issue there. It's the gump fans who won't tolerate temporary mediocrity while said development occurs. Recruitment is always ongoing, but recruitment isn't glamorous.
With the drop off in talent and experience hitting Bama next season, and the talent and experience returning to LSU next season... Saban might see the writing on the wall... Doubt his ego can take 3 consecutive losses to Miles. Not to mention Miles will make more than him after this season. If he isn't gone after this season, he will be after next. He's like a little kid and his ego is too big to have another 3-4 loss year like he did last season.
