All the best to coach Krag and his family. I'm praying for them.

Just watched the Miles presser. What a class act that man is....we should all be thankful to have him as the Head Coach and I can understand why people love to work for him.

    +1

That's exactly what I thought when I heard the news this afternoon. CLM, instead of cutting loose a brand new coach with a debilitating disease, shows the true Tiger spirit and does what he has to do for a member of the family.

    Props to The Hat.

that the coaching staff, and anyone else in the athletic dept who knew, kept this under wraps for a couple of weeks is amazing. it seems to have caught everyone off guard. no rumors, no nothing. that speaks to how much the staff respects each other and protected one of their own.

My great grandfather, my great aunt and my mother had/have Parkinson's. All of them developed it later in life. My experience is that the progression of the affliction is not that fast. I'm sure individual cases vary, but I was very surprised that he decided to reduce his role immediately. I wasn't aware that limiting a person's workload would be of any medical benefit early on. If he is doing it for personal reasons to live his life to the fullest I completely support him and understand.

“This promotion for Greg gives us reason to not miss a beat and to con-tinue on. First, Kragthorpe is going to be in every huddle, every play call and in the press box. He will assist fully with game plan and the passing game will be called with him and (wide receivers coach/passing game co-ordinator) Billy Gonzales’s thumb on it. Coach Studrawa will understand how to get it done.”:thumb:

I still don't understand what stepping down from playcalling actually does. The only thing I can see is that the press won't hound him as much. If they think his job will be physically or mentally easier without the responsibiity of making the final call, I think they are all very wrong and this arrangement won't last long until he takes back over or doesn't coach on Game Day. But if this is just to get him out of the spotlight from the media perspective, I guess I understand that.

Kragthorpe has really been dealt a tough hand. I mean ALS for your wife and then parkinson's for you is just awful. It would definitely fold a lesser man.
