Kobe has no balls, the cat is already out of the bag so stick with it at the least. Damage is done and the Lakers have to do something to try and salvage their own image. Lakers need to try and get an MVP, trade for a few players, or take the #1 pick overall from Portland. Suck up the losses and build from here on out without that cancer.
Kobe is the man. I hope he stays and wins the MVP every year while retiring after his 8th NBA Championship. However, I seem to be in the minority. :yelwink2:
I became a Laker fan when they signed Shaq, so I like Kobe too. I'll admit, he is a prima donna (most superstars are), but I also think he's misunderstood alot of the time as well.
          Can you even BEGIN to imagine the interactions between Kobe, Cuban and the Lil' General?????
 And you might be right. Kupchak and Isaiah in the same room could be a deadly combination of dumb. The Earth might stop turning if they start horse-trading. This has been floating around almost since the trade happened. Kobe's said all along that he did NOT push to get rid of Shaq, but the media latched onto it and it slowly became fact that he wanted Shaq gone. Of course, I don't think he shed any tears about Shaq leaving, but the constant reporting that a player could somehow overrule a GM AND Owner on such a monumental deal is just laughable. And bad reporting. He also probably thought Kupchak could get something more than Odom and Butler for the most dominant center in the game. AND Kupchak then had the foresight to trade Butler (all-pro) for Kwame Brown (all-loser.) Unbelievable. Can anyone seriously blame Kobe for wanting out? He's out after '09 anyway, so the Lakers will have to move him. I doubt it happens until after next year though. And I also can't figure out how ESPN thinks this is the biggest story of the past 10 years, given their coverage of it.
If you believe that Kobe is being honest and forthcoming then he had NOTHING to do with pushing Shaq out. I'm not so sure I believe him though. Kobe is all about Kobe and coming out now and making such a statement will help rebuild is tarnished image. I certainly have nothing to prove that he is lying about this issue other than a "Laker insider" who apprently says Kobe did play a part in moving Shaq out. Shaq says he believes Kobe on this issue. Who knows, its a one ring (speaking of rings Shaq got his !) circus at this point.
