My wife doesn't really understand but always participates in me having a full view of the room when we go out to eat. I don't feel comfortable with my back to the crowd as a result of my training and the same goes for walking about. Egress is key, even in the parking lot. Again, NY sucks for responsible citizens. All but the 5 boroughs voted against the "SAFE Act" and yet it passed. The city sheep are going to be really unhappy when the shinola hits the fan...
I'm not familiar with the "SAFE Act" but I know and do what I need to in order to make sure I know what is going on. I don't even bother to try and explain it or even let her know, I just do it. I don't have a CC nor do I want one. Truthfully, it would end badly for me because I really detest stupid people and by God they out number us 10/1 and that may be on the low side.
I tell my students that I got no plans to die begging for their lives. I will go down fighting. I have three or so students in each class that stepped forward. I trust them and I think they trust me. I don't have to have their help but..... I may be the first one shot, but don't plan on being the next. I feel same way in restaurant, parking lot and stop light. Eternal vigilance.
