When you start a thread you really expose yourself. Starting a thread brings attention to you. Sometimes your thread is taken well by the board. It starts a conversation that others want to be a part of and sometimes the thread takes a life of it's own, it goes off on tangents that you never expected.

Sometimes the thread you start doesn't go as planned. Since you started it and set yourself up on a soapbox , a bad thread can come back on you.

I have learned to not start a thread without thinking about it first. I think " does this thread deserve space on the board or is it something that I can say in another thread"..
Sabanfan taught me this valuable lesson one day in the FSA forum. A lesson I will not soon forget.
Since you are new here, a friendly word of advice, think before you start a thread if it's really worthy and is it really worth the chance that it doesn't work out just right.

Good luck and welcome to the board.

I have a feeling "thinking about it" wouldn't change much for those two individuals.
