Saw this on Facebook.... Kind Note From a Florida Fan Tiger fans, we wanted to share with you the kind words from Florida fan John J. Jordan following last night's game: I am a Gator fan and attended the Florida-LSU Game with my wife last night in Gainesville. During that game, one of our football players (Latroy Pittman) was injured and in light of the potential for a serious neck or back injury, they immobilized him and carried him off the field on a motorized cart. I am writing to express our appreciation for the way that your football players displayed what appeared to be sincere concern for that young player as the doctors and EMS personnel were working on him to prepare him for transport. I may be telling you something you witnessed yourself either at the game or on TV, but if you did not, it was truly a sight to see. We’ve been attending college football games for 40 years and we’ve never seen anything quite like it before. Many of the LSU players kneeled and prayed (led by number 32, Jalen Collins), and later a large number gathered near the cart and spoke to Latroy as they were preparing to take him off the field. Bottom line, We were very, very impressed by this show of character and class, something that is hard to find in a world that seems to place winning above everything, and concern for one’s self above concern for others. Please express our respect and thanks to Coach Miles and his staff, and especially to the young men of the LSU Tigers Football Team for setting a great example for everyone who witnessed their simple act of humanity.
http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2014/10/les_miles_lsu_players_reaction.html I was very proud of the entire LSU team when Rasco and Pittman were down. It was great to see the LSU players show so much care and respect to Pittman, an opposing player. The LSU kids appeared more concerned and more walked up to him than UF players. Miles may be criticized for quirks or in game decisions but no doubt, he is a good man. No doubt those were as he would say, "quality players." but also good kids. Thank you Coach Miles for instilling what it is to be a sportsman and thank you to the players for your conduct.
See that's why I can deal with a few in game lapses of judgement. I'd rather have a man of character that represents LSU with dignity and class that wins most of his games than having a dictator that wins championships every year.
This is why I like Les as the coach of this team. Look, any coach can be criticized for their decision making, play calling, etc. Very few have integrity. Les does.
When our players went give him some knuckle dap, I was proud and hoped it would be noted. Showing respect to an opponent is not a weakness, it's a strength.
Competition isn't all about winning or losing, but HOW you win and lose. Our Tigers showed true class in the hard fought W. Good post bro.
This young team is becoming my favorite LSU team , in fact after reading this and getting a little bit of trash in my left eye . They are my favorite LSU team . Don't be picking on my Tigers anymore you hear !!!
