Re: Ding, ding. We have a winner I'd say, in most situations,it surely wouldn't help, but like cajdav said, Kiff and Sark were, in essence, co-OC's so the offense won't change. :thumb:
Why Lane's departure has no effect As of this morning, PC's son Brennan has been named the new Recruiting Director. PC's recuriting methodology is to have as many coaches as possible involved in the process and with each kid. Joe has said his decision is already made. I recognize that things may change but if his decision was made weeks ago then it was based on his interractions with PC, McNair, and Norton, not Kiffin. Joe learned this weekend how he would be used and that won't change regardless of where Lane is. And despite what other schools will put out there including the Hogs and bama, it's still between SC and LSU.
if his decision was made weeks ago, well its not going to be USC. He had not visited any schools other than Ole Miss. I believe that he loves Reggie Bush, wants to be like him. I dont see him moving to SoCal, away from his family, friends, and espically Reggie. Another factor is the two RB, that USC have verbs from one 5star and a 4star RB's. LSU has no RB on the Board, other than Devine...who will not play Div-I this year. Bottom line, is it's fun to be a Top recruit, have all this hype around you. If you come out early and say "Im LSU all the way" then you dont get the red carpet treatment. Leave things open, and you really get them to lay it on thick.
I hope you're right but he does have a special lady in California. Don't know how serious they are and ladies shouldn't be a problem for him but you know that old saying.....One pubic hair is stronger than the Trans-Atlantic cable.
Good point It is fun to get the royal treatment. You have to consider though that even if Joe had committed to LSU early, he'd still be getting the love from everyone. As you all know by watching Saban and what happened to us with James Wilson, coaches rarely respect a player's verbal, especially one as talented as Joe. Conversely, could you imagine what kind of local pressure the poor kid would be under if he committed anywhere other than LSU? I still say that if he's not coming to SC, then it would be a painful travesty to seem anywhere other than LSU. Tiga........about that cable.
Many recruits who choose an out of state school do tend to let their decision be known later in the process, with good reason probably.
