    Hi,

I've been enjoying the conversation for a long time, but I haven't spoken up in a while. I suffered through some relative lean years of LSU football from '88 through '92, so I am basking in our success throughout the 2000s.

This weekend I'm introducing my kids to their first LSU home game experience vs. Kentucky, and I want it to be something they'll remember fondly for a lifetime.

Does anybody out there have a kid-friendly tailgate planned for the Kentucky game? Accommodations for 40+ old farts would be appreciated too! :D

We won't even have time to tailgate for this morning game, unfortunately. Take them to the Union, take them to the Tiger and definitely have them below the Hill when the band comes down.

How long before the game does the team come down the hill? And the band?

Kids don't get anything out of tailgating IMO (even though you any the other adults may appreciate a rest). As suggested before, have them in position to watch the band run down the hill. Watching them leaving the stadium is pretty neat as well. Another thing that goes over well is a trip by the dairy store to get some ice cream.
It is also a good idea to have a plan in place should one or more of the kids gets separated from the group. I remember my dad telling me that if I get lost just find the jet outside the stadium and stay there and he would find me.
I hope you and your future Tiger fans enjoy!

I plan on arriving for game time with my daughter. The tailgating does wear her out for usual 7pm games. Not to mention the wife is preggo so that doesn't help as well.

Tailgating before the WVU game last year was a big mistake for my then 5-year-old. She was exhausted before the 8 p.m. kickoff and slept through the entire game. Of course, the Kentucky game will be different with such an early kickoff.

I agree with taking them to the Union, dairy store, and seeing the band march into the stadium.

I agree with that. I would keep it short. See the band, visit the gift shop, Mike's habitat.
