My goodness! I finally had a reason to give JohnLSU positive rep (please don't tell me what my grade "as a person" is, though.)
What a negative bunch in here! I'm glad the players don't have the doubts and the lack of faith some in here have. Points: This team won't concede that "anyone" can beat them! And they'll play like it. I don't see LSU an underdog all season by more than 3 points, and that's probably in the Swamp. This team is the defending NC, and the first to ever win 2 BCS National titles. If anyone can "repete" (Pete Carroll, yoo my smack-tawkin silly w-coast beotch), the LSU Tigers can! Did anyone watch Hatcher in the Spring game? Young man's a "gamer". That means LSU has two decent QBs in a position that's not yet decided, with more coming. Hatcher's ahead in LSU's system and he's smart, and he takes his team for 6 when it counts. He smoke Lee in the Spring game in the columns and stats where it counts.
Dude, the guy's name is Hatch. Also, you do realize that he was a third string QB in the Ivy League right?
This season will be similar to when Hodson led us in 1987. Young inexperienced QB with lots of talent surrounding him. We also had a pretty stout defense that year. Who ever the QB is needs to have a good head on his shoulders and make good decisions.
Thanks for the correction of my Single Malt moment. I see from your avatar that you're prone to a drop or two. That ice just doesn't work after a while, just freezes your arteries. Age and wisdom will bring you around. Yes, I do realize he sat at "Harrvad", just as Flynn sat here for three long years. How did that turn out, by the way? I thought Flynn gave LSU a better chance to win the NC than JR, even despite JRs arm and talent. JR tried too damned hard and tried to force things when they weren't there. He's still developing in the NFL. That was just my opinion, and when we kicked the living crap out of Miami, I knew that a "gamer" like Flynn would take LSU a long way in 2007, and he did. It's a total team effort, and it's a long season in 2008 and QBs in the SEC go down. That's a tough fact of life, just like the fact that ice ruins good liquor. We can see that you are a big Lee fan? That's nice, and so am I. I've watched a lot of QBs with talent take a seat over the years at LSU. Despite what you may think, young man, I see talent in Hatch, and a promise of glory when it's all on the line. I oughtta know, I've pulled the trigger myself, a long, long time ago. Time for another shot, and another thread.
I like Lee and Hatch very much, but Hatch did not smoke Lee in the game or the stats. Hatch started fast and slowed, Lee started slow and finished..stats were comparable as were the performances.
