Amen! I see a lot of upper classmen transferring when a more talented and poised freshman becomes eligible. I'm sure Texas and Oklahoma had more experienced quarterbacks when Colt McCoy and Bradford took the field. Flynn was just as cool and poised when he stepped on the field vs Miami as he was vs Ohio State.
Keep in mind that this offense does not have to have a strong armed QB. Crowton has shown that he will re-tool his offense for the talent at hand. With the speed we have at our skill positions, we just need somone to deliver the ball on time and not make mistakes. RP was talented but I don't think he would ever have been as successful as Flynn. Both our young QB's remind me of Flynn. The staff will get them in the film room to make them more comfortable before they step on the field in the fall. If they can deliver the ball to our play makers we will be fine.:LSU231:
Agreed. But difficult! There are a hundred ways for a young QB to make mistakes that stall an otherwise talented offense. From fumbled snaps to bad coverage reads to impatience in the pocket to bad audibles to poor throws, etc... This will be the challenge. Wow. I'm no RP apologist, but I can't quite see this. Unless you mean that he was going to implode off the field at some point, regardless. Because, had RP gotten his act together, I think he had almost unlimited potential, which clearly couldn't be said for MF.
Yup, if he would have ever gotten his head out of his azz off the field, he had incredible upside. His on the field potential was scary. That's what makes it so sad.
Goodness, I just got goosebumps! That was another FUN game to watch here in Florida! We went to Front Row Fridays with the Almuni Group and they put all the LSU fans upstairs and all the Miami fans downstairs (wonder why??? ), anyway When Miami scored the first 3 points in the beginning of the game the Miami fans started screaming up to us "It is only going to get worse from here!" (among other profanities), at the end off the game we were screaming back down to them "Hell, y'all were RIGHT!":rofl::rofl: Is it football season YET????
Wow. I'm no RP apologist, but I can't quite see this. Unless you mean that he was going to implode off the field at some point, regardless. Because, had RP gotten his act together, I think he had almost unlimited potential, which clearly couldn't be said for MF Implode both on and off the field. I don't see RP as making good decisions in either case on a consistant basis. His erratic behavior off the field would be copied on the field at some point. The SEC championship game was a flash in the pan. In this case his strong arm would have caused him to force balls and cause turnovers, IMO.
maybe, but I don't think so. QB's get better with playing time, and I don't see RP would have been any different. Flynn's Peach Bowl game was no flash in the pan, and I don't think the SEC championship was RP's. But, we'll never know.
