I gotta disagree, Ryan Miller who didn't get much playing time last season dominated Cody with virtually no help. Cody ain't all that, even though he technically is all that.
One way to nullify Cody actually plays to JJ's strengths: move the pocket and roll him out. Use JJ's mobility instead of forcing him to play as a pocket passer the whole game. I want that big boy having to run ALL OVER the field on every LSU drive. Spread the field and run tosses and sweeps. This will take some pressure off the OL and force Bama to use speed to defend the periphery. If LSU can put together decent drives Cody will be blown up by the half.
I really do hope you are right. So far the seat of his pants has been the dirtiest part of his uniform. I think he is riding on his dads name so far but I hope you are right. I really do.
Jabba the hut will be there, and he ain't going anywhere. Your right about the fact its the running game, and all other things being equal, and that is not a sure thing, the running game will decide this one. Ingram, Upchurch, and Richardson behind a more productive offensive line for the season, will give Bama the edge.
They key to winning this game is LSU scoring more points then Bama. I think if we can do that we have a good chance to win the game.... ;-) A friend mine played football in college and gave the school newspaper that very quote (But for the schools playing) and the school paper actually printed it. I always get a kick out of generic answers on keys to win a game like, avoid turnovers, run the ball, keep their offense on the field etc.... Not trying to poke fun at the post, just got a giggle out of that.
Cleared him just fine, however the game was stopped while the grounds crew filled the huge rut in the turf.
If we make Jabba chase Jefferson all over the field he'll get winded real quick. Bama won't be able to run all game long, at some point Mallet is gonna have to throw the ball, and our D will have to be able to force bad throws and turnovers.
