I'll even take 2 takeaways being on the road. As long as we avoid our own turnovers, I think we'll win that battle. Georgia is a very turnover prone club, and we are among the nation's leaders in takeaway-giveaway ratio. I like our chances in that aspect. But the key stat is not the turnovers, rather the points we can get from them.
I did not get to watch the game until late in the 4th...but I did follow along as best I could at work. So maybe I'm off base, but according to the stats...we got the running game going pretty well. I think this is the key for the entire season...EVERY season...period. You don't need 4 TOs if you can keep them off the field, which LSU DEFINITELY did in the first half. The last time I saw TOP, it was LSU 20+ minutes, UGA 9+.
meeehhhhh. it was very much like all season. except for kw couldnt do anything and scott had the one big run. georgia might have the best run D the team has faced however.
i agree with this also. The longer Florida's defense is on the field, the better for LSU. Second i would say 3rd down conversion percentage.
LSU rushed for 156 total yards. That's about 120 more than LSU rushed for against State. There was definite improvement in both run blocking as well as Scott's running from last week to this week.
those stats are misleading. @MSU there was actually 90 yds gained rushing. most of the discrepancy is because of the bad punt snap. 90 ys/30 rushes =3 yds /rush @UGA 156 -33 (i did point that out as a difference) =123/44rushes=2.8 yds/rush. still not perfect stat analysis but it more accurate than comparing 156 to 31.
ok ok. 156+34= 190/44=4.3. so better but still not as dominant as 150 vs 30. and if you want to be picky we could subtract out the 30 yd scramble by jj in the 4th that really isnt an indication of running game. it was better but not by a big margin.
touche. i didn't think we were dominant on the ground either, but again, misuse of the running backs. Why run keiland inside? Why run the option with a quarterback that takes bad angles? Doesn't make much sense to me, but i'm not a coach. Charles Scott ground and pound, Keiland catching out of the backfield and running to the edge, or even in the option with Shep, and also the Shep Holliday option is just sick. I think if our backs were used in a way that best suits the way they run, the ground game would look alot better.
