JMO, but I believe the key stat is going to be time of possession. I don't expect to see a lot of turnovers in this game because Richt and Miles are both conservative in crossroads SEC matchups .... and there's little doubt that this game, like the AU-UT matchup, represents a crossroads of sorts for each program. IMO, LSU will not be able to avoid double-teaming AJ Green. Single coverage on Green would create a very advantagous matchup that Richt is all too familiar in spotting. Best solution for Miles is to cinch up the saddle on KW and CS and relentlessly pound UGA for four straight quarters until the dam breaks. That keeps the UGA offense grounded and gives Miles a good 'ole SEC fashioned "W" This is the time of year where the SEC begins to shake itself out in terms of the teams that can run for the title. It sure would be nice to see Lafell catch an early TD and hush those puppies today .... good luck.
im not sure chavis will double green. at the least though chad jones will be keeping tabs on him. charles is the scary one against lsu's D just how is this supposed to occur? have you mailed the OL some potion? you have inside info that uga wont stack the box?
Bingo. LSU has come up short in TOP all year. We have to reverse that against Georgia. Keep our defense off the field and fresh in the 4th and make 8-minute drives with the run and short pass. They can't score points if their offense is on the sidelines.
I was justing reading how: In the Les Miles era, LSU quarterbacks have thrown five interceptions in two games against the Dawgs. Georgia has committed no turnovers in that period of time. In fact, Georgia has not given LSU the ball since the 2003 SEC Championship game, when the Dawgs threw three INTs. In the Mark Richt era overall, LSU has thrown 7 interceptions and lost four fumbles. By way of comparison, Georgia has thrown four interceptions in that time, all of them coming in the two losses in 2003. No Mark Richt team has ever fumbled the ball away to LSU.
I think the key stat of the game is two fold...but related. 1)Catches by TT and BL. We have such an advantage here...and need to exploit it early...which will lead to... 2)Rushing yds for LSU. We need to establish the running game to keep THEIR offense off the field. If we accomplish #1 early, #2 will come. If not...we struggle.
