The D played well enough against Bama. They gave up yards but made stops when they needed to. The D became wore out though because the O was constantly three and out. The D played well enough in the Ark game as well, they have a strong O. This Ark team would not lose to Toledo. That said, the D is not nearly strong enough. This is not a LSU D. There is too much talent for them to be avg(mediocre by LSU standards).
Ark gave up over 500 yards to Tennessee Martin. Let that sink in and it should clarify how inept and unimaginative our offense is
The D did play semi decent the first half of the Bama and I've said so, but they weren't good by any measure. They got their asses handed to them from start to finish against the piggies, no doubt about it. The DEs didn't set the edge one single time during the game, Arky ran outside at will. I saw LaCouture make one tackle and I don't remember one other tackle by the DL. Zero pass rush. LBs couldn't cover the TE and WRs were open all night. Did I mention the massive amount of bad angles and missed tackles? Arky was what, last in the SEC in big plays? They almost doubled their total for the year against LSUs D. Absolutely putrid defensive effort Saturday night.
We basically agreeing. I think the D is very weak, however if the O was able to put up a few good drives I think they would hold up a lil better is all I'm saying. I put it more on the O sucking so bad over the last two weeks than the D. As a whole though yeah, the D has not played well all season. They get gashed too often on runs and too many breakdowns in the secondary.
At a minimum a year allows you to compile a short list and gauge interest. Which, if they're smart, they should already be doing in the preliminary phase. No way does Les get canned after this season, but depending on how 2016 plays out, could be a possibility.
It's extremely unlikely, but there would be no doubt about his seat being very hot. I think short of a player revolt he survives this season. How good or bad the season ends will tell how much margin for error he has next year IMO.
I sometimes feel there could be a player revolt since the '11 BCSCG debacle however LSU is still recruiting at the highest level. This could potentially be our best class ever, we shall see if the recent downslide will affect that as there are a lot of big fish still in the mix. You also have to worry about losing Franks to UF. I do think there is something there once the players get here, otherwise I don't think we would see quite as many JR's leaving for the NFL when they aren't quite ready.
