I hear plenty of responses saying let's give it time, but what of the breakdowns in the secondary? It is eerily similar to 2008. I agree with the undersized D line and that's a credible rebuke, but this secondary is made up largely of ELITE players and is arguably the weakest part of this defense.
I don't think it's debatable. They haven't been as billed but to say it's weaker than the D line is laughable.
They go hand in hand, but I'd take the DB's over the DL any day. The DB's mainly have issues in zone, not sure why we stay in zone when we clearly do better in man. The DL has had a few moments but overall they just can't pressure the QB or make plays behind the line. Neal has had moments but as a whole is mostly unheard of. LaCouture has also had moments but is mainly unheard of. Key shows flashes but has mainly been held in check. The others have not shown much. I think LB is actually the weakest of the D. Beckwith is by far our best, but is eaten up in the pass. Plus he misses a lot of tackles. Debo has so much physical talent but relies too much on it. I saw all I needed to when Debo made Coker look like Tebow by running him over.
LSU doesnt have the money like other elite schools. they have boosters who like to be a part of the game but when its time to put up or shut up, things change. we are stuck with miles for however long his contract says. unless he retires. we arent buying out his contract unless theres a year left yet i still doubt it. like i said, its like a bad marriage. we have to sleep in separate houses now not just separate beds like before. the its not me, its you discussion has to be made this week.
