You're right about the route tree, it's simple, no creativity, and something you'd see from a madden game when it came out on sega Genesis except no tight end use in the passing or relatively none, and no tailbacks in the passing game or relatively none. This sums up LSU's offense in one painful sentence. Pro style offense with a dual threat quarterback that doesn't run much or throw to tight ends or tailbacks. Recipe for disaster.
I know Quinn has disappeared, but what about DJ Chark? Wasn't he supposed to have had such a great Spring and Fall that he was going to be one of the surprise players this year? Returning kicks etc... I don't even know his number and have no idea if he has even been on the field? Our passing game is pitiful considering we are as deep at WR (with quality WR's) than we have been in a lot of years.
There is also a possibility that Cam has not found the personnel or time to install an entire playbook. Some of these guys may have issues with retaining information on a large scale. That with the combination of coach waterhead handcuffing play calls would make for a pretty lackluster offense.
So we basically do the least effective parts of each style of offense. We have created a hybrid offense of mostly bad and less good....awesome!?
We currently have 4 or more WR on the roster and Guice as well that would all be dangerous on the bubble screen.
