You know, for relatively slow board times, I wonder if the sports snobs want to wax poetic about this one. Kentucky's win at all costs attitude several weeks ago must have, I imagine, been the talk of Lexington. Stealing J Cal, landing what is now the #1 hoops recruiting class, and a fanbase likely licking their lips at what may be next year in the SEC with a Florida and Tennessee in transition, and somewhat unproven rest of the SEC. Now weeks later, what do they have? The overhang of NCAA investigators following Cal around b/c of the Memphis scandal. Lawsuits with Billy G. Prize recruit pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges. Report: NCAA accuses Memphis men's basketball of major violations - ESPN Kentucky Wildcats sue Billy Gillispie - ESPN Kentucky recruit John Wall pleads guilty to misdemeanor - ESPN Call Trent bland and perhaps not a flashy recruiter, but I guess one never worries about whether he runs a clean program. I hope the moms and dads of his recruits see this too. I guess the question for posters is, when is the cost of success for the Kentucky's of the world too high, or is it just part of the price of sports fame? Is Trent at a disadvantage in today's game, or is the high way, the right way? :geauxtige:geauxtige LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. IN TRENT WE TRUST.
all i have to say, is i'm glad to be an LSU fan. UK is fighting dearly to hold on to something. their basketball heyday is over. not to day that they're no good, but it's similar to LSU in baseball. i like trent. i like that we're doing things the "right" way (as far as we know.) i believe you can still when doing things the right way. i like CTJ and i think we'll continue to see a lot more success in the future with him.
