That's why they call it the Judeo-Christian ethic. Moses was a Jew. God didn't choose to give the commandments to a Rastafarian

Then why has the Old Testament been kept and honored all these millennia? Why do Christians worship a Hebrew God? The messiah concept itself is a Jewish doctrine!

Jesus was born a Jew, worked as a rabbi, and died a Jew. Christianity was created after his life and its first crisis was to decide whether non-Jews could be Christians at all.

The Bible both old and New Testament is believed to be the revealed word of God and his relationship with his creation. The Old Testament is the story of the events leading up to Christ's advent, life, death, resurrection and ascension. It establishes God standing as the supreme God of all and the history of his interaction with his chosen people. It is supposed to set the stage through events and prophesy for the coming of Christ.
The point of Christ is that he was/is the final revelation of God and he establishes the completed covenent with man. Paraphrasing he said that 'only through me is there salvation'. He was/is transitional and while he honored the patriarchs who paved the way for his coming he was the new conduit to the father and salvation.
The church believes that to truly know God we must be knowledgable of both the background to and word of Christ. Christ's teaching came from his Jewish background but broke with many tenants and to traditional Jews is not the same religion. He said several times (and I paraphrase again) 'I am the new law' also 'I am the way the truth and the light. Only through me can you come to the father'. These are departures from the Jewish religion.
The Christian faith owes a debt to its Jewish background but has grown far beyond the narrow confines.

That is a lot of wind just to acknowledge that they are closely related and share identical traditions.

she is in jail because she tried to use the government to make other people follow her religion.
isn't it supposed to be true that no sin is greater than the other? show me in the bible where it says that homosexuality is worse than obesity or lust or envy or any other "sin" for that matter.
of course everyone is a hypocrite but everyone isn't making a spectacle of themselves the way she has been

Martin Luther King made a spectacle of himself by his acts of civil disobedience and helped change the law and give rights to those who had none before. He went to jail a number of times.

So wait you are comparing a fight for civil rights to a woman trying to use the bible as an instrument of bigotry?

King used civil disobedience to fight for people's rights, not to deny others their rights.

Believing that gay marriage is wrong is not bigotry.

No, but discriminating against gays is bigotry.
