She can speak out all she likes but she cannot break the law. Tonight she is sitting in jail because she broke the law, plain and simple. It also ruins her credibility as a moral authority, which is exactly what she is trying to be.
She broke the law by standing up for what she believes in and is willing to pay the price rather than go against her principles. That is not hypocritical. Is she was secretly gay and refused to hand out gay licences that would be hypocritical. If she were to set herself up as a marriage counselor and give advice on how to have a successful marriage that would be hypocritical. Everybody has flaws and everbody points out the flaws of others. It's only hypocritical when you have the same flaw as the one you are condemning.
It's completely hypocritical because she is using God as an excuse for this and that but ignores God when it comes to herself.
Then she is a hypocrite. Because according to Matthew she is an adulteress and that's breaking 1 of the 10 commandments.
Along with the 37 million members of Ashley Madison and countless others. If an adulterer condemns somebody for breaking the commandment against murder does that make him a hypocrite?
Yes. Learn what the bible says. No sin is greater than the other. It's 2 sins the lord hates the most.
She's in jail where she belongs. When she gets tired of eating the food, she'll resign, write a book, and get on the christian speaking circuit. She won't sign a license as she'll lose all of her "value". This will last a week. A month at most.
I understand that this might be your narrow definition of hypocrisy but it is what it is my friend. When you make yourself the subject of public scrutiny you also open yourself to everything about public scrutiny. Like I said before, she is pointing out the splinter in someone else's eye while ignoring the log hanging out of hers. That hypocrisy, no matter how you want to define it. hy·poc·ri·sy həˈpäkrəsē/ noun the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform; pretense. synonyms: dissimulation, false virtue, cant, posturing, affectation, speciousness, empty talk, insincerity, falseness, deceit, dishonesty, mendacity, pretense, duplicity; More Sounds eerily similar to our friend Ms. Davis
