Thoughts on this woman refusing to issue any marriage license after the Supreme Court turned her down.
She's an elected official so until or unless there's an election, her income and her job are solid. She's entitled to her beliefs which is something the alleged open-minded gay community doesn't respect and why she has gotten death threats. That said, she's putting her own personal beliefs before the law and it's wrong. She should find another job where it isn't a conflict for her. As well, there are 120 counties in Kentucky. If getting a marriage license is the priority, then go get one, even if the burden is on them.
she can certainly believe what she wants, but its still paid and funded by taxpayers. she should resign.
She should resign, she is breaking the law. So what's likely to happen is the county will be fined, and she will be held in contempt and arrested. It will cost the taxpayers of that county money. It is not her right to disobey the law because of her religion, and I'm sorry, someone who has been married 4 times has absolutely no right to talk to anyone about the sanctity of marriage.
She deserves no respect. She's not entitled to break the law because of her religious beliefs. She can be charged with malfeasance in office, elected official or not.
I guess you missed where I agreed that it's wrong and she should find another job. And what of those folks calling her an inbred or sending her death threats? Are they cool? And about that 4 times.....I guess proof will come eventually if it's true but all the stories about it link to a non-existent snopes article and a bunch of others calling her names. Do you have a link with actual proof of her matrimonial multiplier?
