he is a 4 star de from hanville and LSU is not going after him why not. he has offers from bama, west va, fla, ucla. whats the deal here?
good question....but the most depth we have on the team is on the defensive line.....so maybe thats a reason
Word is he's a raw project player, and we are good enough and deep enough to not have to chase them and have better, more developed prospects on our board. He has a lot of potential though.
Pittman-and-Pittman (Chase and Kirston) still have another year as does Ryan Willis who started some. Tyson Jackson saw a good bit of playing time this season and will be a RS-Soph next year as will Tim Washington. Al Jones and Jean-Francois are going to be RS-Freshmen next season. Tillman and Livingston are already on board for this recruiting class and we're in good position with Dexter Manley II. All told, not including Manley II (obviously since he's not committed), next year we'll have 12 defensive ends and only 3 will be seniors. As much potential as this kid from Hahnville has, we simply have too much talent on board--and too many players already polished enough to start or contribute for the next 4 seasons to worry about a "project".
Beginning next season, we'll only have 2 linebackers with playing experience (Luke Sanders and Ali Highsmith). We will already rely on young players to contribute right away. So in that reguard, I'd rather see us use a scholarship on a player that you KNOW can play LB--not one that you THINK has the ability to play. Hey, but if this guy reallys wants to play for LSU!, he can always walk-on and earn a scholarship when one becomes available. And since he's already a Louisiana native, if his grades are good enough, he could be a TOPS candidate and get financial assistance his first year anyways....
