I think most of the posters here have added quality bulk over time as well !!! It can be done.
Its not weight with these kids, its more about muscle, do they have the frame to add weight(Muscle)? Remember most of these kids come from a single parent home, eat fast foods, don't hit the weights and don't know the right form in lifting, weights to use, etc. Many things come into play with getting to college. The right diet is another thing that helps. Word out, Mingo is doing well and where they want him to be at this time.
You make a few good points here, but this is either big time generalization, or you only pay attention to the few stories that meet this description and really believe that is most of the players backgrounds.
Yes Weight usually means more muscle...:hihi: It is about food intake and workout regimes along with keeping speed while progressing the weight. Hatch/Moffit food plan works wonders for the players looking to add the lbs.
Not most, but many. Been following recruiting for many years. I follow many players that make it into college. Even the ones that come from a two parent home hit fast foods. Mom and Dads both work, get home late, etc. Like I say too many factors come into play. I've seen it all, ok, well most of it. I did get a call last week asking about a player for the BTR area. This college coach wanted to know why the kid had went to 3 high schools. Making a few calls I had the answer. Haven't heard back, but it looks like the kid may get an offer. Got a call a few years back, from a college coach asking about another kid, made a few calls, he too in now playing at SMU. Its good to see these kids do well. If at LSU or another college. Most just need a chance. Last year one coach was looking for a return guy, I had one for him. He wanted to see film. Too late, he missed out on the kid. By the time they were ready to offer, the player had given a verbal to another school........
