Anyone know if Williams was injured in the first half. He was takled very hard and and seemed to walk back to the sideline rather gingerly. I didn't see him in the game after that play. Last year I noticed that he seemed to get nicked after a big hit.
I thought KW improved immensely over the course of the season and ran harder than at any other time in his career at LSU. Perhaps he grew tired of riding the pine and tried a little harder, or maybe he started to see the field better. Who knows, but it was nice to see. However, Scott still did a fantastic job this year, despite having an erratic passing game which forced defenses to key on him and Johnson. And I don't see him losing his starting spot. He proved himself. It will be nice to see them both back as seniors, and hopefully a passing game that can keep the defenses honest. It would also be nice to see Murphy utilized somehow that exploits his strengths. He seems like too good of an overall athlete to keep of the field. With Ridley already blooded, and the backs we have coming in next year, we should not have to worry about that aspect of our offense.
I like this. I've been trying to think of a way to describe what Keiland does whenever a tackler approaches. And . . . voila! He goes noodly! That's it! I appreciate a good wordsmith. Thanks, Bandit. Rep points on the way. :thumb:
what i want to know is why none of our backs were used all year as check down receivers. It would have helped Jarrett Lee so much, if the coaching staff would have told him under no circumstances are you to try and make a play over the middle unless the receiver is uncovered, and have charles scott or keiland or murphy rub off of a block and sit 3 yards off the line of scrimmage where Lee can check down to him. I understand Lee dosent look off of his receivers, but if that "safe" option was there maybe he would have used it. You look at a team like the Colts in the NFL, or Buffalo, Addai and Rhodes are always there in case manning needs to dump it off for 4 or 5 yards. Same with Marshawn Lynch. Keep a running back in the backfield to block, then have them rub off and be a dump off reciever. has anyone else noticed this?
Lee couldn't throw a swing pass to save his life. Remember the one to Keiland that almost got picked off? Poor guy can barely throw a screen without a double pump fake.
not talking about a designed swing pass talking about a dump off. I remember that swing pass he threw to richard murphy against tulane and i swear that ball went 30 feet into the air. It looked more like a half court jumpshot.
Still, even a dumpoff to a RB waiting in the flats would have me holding my breath. Lee is good with bombs. If he had to play, they should just go all Danny Wuerfful on everyone.
i would agree with and go with the whole.....the bomb is as good as a punt if its intercepted theory......only problem is everytime he throws a pick, the person that picks it goes all Devin Hester on us and brings it back for 6. Just think it would help to have that "in case of emergency" back about 2 yards from where the ball was snapped to dump it to.
