Good point. Charlie Weis was still living off his rep as the Patriots OC. June Jones never got a high profile college job. It would have been interesting to see how well he would have done. As for Kirk Ferentz he has done just well enough to keep his job but I don't think a Michigan or a Florida is going to come knocking at his door anytime soon
I used to think Ferentz was an elite coach but not anymore. When we hired Les, I really favored Ferentz. Not anymore. I agree with you that Ferentz isn't going anywhere. He's at a school where he can be a hero when they win and he is forgiven quickly when they lose.
So true, Ferentz is kind of locked in, paying too much cash. I would not like to be a college or Pro team looking for a Head Coach right now. Odds are against you, big time. Just watch when things start going down. It's like a mad dash on a Black Friday Sale, some are gonna be left out. Look for a couple college coaches to make a jump into the Pro's. Oh, speaking of Norm Chow, I'll be at the Hawaii / Rice game Sat night.
Speaking of Coach Fatso, I saw on ESPN this AM that he will be paid 4.5 mil this year. Hell, he's still getting money from Notre Dame. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
No but we are talking about Les Miles. It doesn't make a bit of sense to wear a zipped up windbreaker for an early season day game in the south either
