Dandy Don and others at the all-star game said he looked great. He is a preferred walk on kicker. Booted kickoffs to the back of the endzone and made a long field goal a believe.

I read that too. Kicked a 52-yarder and another close to 60 yards. Terrific.

I think one of the kickers will go (probably Crutchfield) and LSU will replace him with a walk-on. This could be one of the options to fill that void.

:geaux: Lord please bless us to get someone that can kick it into the end zone! The last two years, no one has even come close 99% of the time. Really makes a difference when the opponent has to start at their 20 majority of the time. Made me sick to see a lot of kickers on other teams do it on a routine basis but ours couldn't kick it deeper than about the 7 to 10 yd line.:nope: :LSU231:

Jasper did start getting pretty good there towards the end of the season, especially in the bowl game. I noticed most of his kickoffs were close or in the endzone in the bowl game.

:geaux: You're right, I did see a couple against Ga. Tech. Don't know if it was because they were in a dome or not. Just want to get someone who can do it pretty consistently which, so far, our kickers haven't done yet. :LSU231:

It seems like kickers would be the easiest position to evaluate for recruiting, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all...

:geaux: Ageed. We've had great punters and field goal kickers lately, but the kickoff guys haven't been up to the same level. What about Drew Alleman? What type of kicking does he specialize in? :LSU231:

Man, I was very worried about this. But Dalfrey came through for the most part. Great might be a stretch, but he definitely exceeded the low expectations set after last spring.
