I thought Saban's new salary was "out of the question." What is to say another big money school won't top that. Maybe even by a large margin....If I was in Less' position, and Tulane offered me five or six million a year with a five or six year contract...........BYE..........Unless LSU matched or at least came close.
Based on what? I agree that Miles might leave for UM even if UM doesn't match the LSU $$$, BUT, there has to be a line in the sand for him. If LSU's offering $3.5-$4mil, does UM land him with $2mil? I don't think so. Now if they come at him with $3mil...then maybe. But I don't think they'll go that high...JOMO.
No way CLM goes to TAM. The Aggies have to strong of a tie with Alabama when it comes to head coaches. They will probably go after the Alabama guy.:lol:
Correct me if I'm wrong but didnt someone do a Freedom of Information act to get Pete Carroll's Tax returns a couple of years back which showed he was making 5 or 6 mill a year. Now granted USC is a Private school and they refuse to publish his contract so his salary and Charlie Weis' are not used when figuring the 3 highest paid coaches. The 3 Big boys are Saban at 4 mill, Stoops at 3.25 to 3.5 mill, and Ferentz (Iowa) at 2.95 mill. Reguardless, at the very least Les will get a raise this year either way. Even if he was to lose I can see him getting 2.5 to 2.75 just for have back to back to back 11+ win seasons. So any real offers would have to start @ 2.75 mill, min of 5 years and a 4 mill buyout if the school decides to bail on the deal early. If Mich calls I say the deal will be 2 mill a year plus performance bonuses. length and buyout clauses will not matter because if he wants to go to mich its because he wants to be there not becuase they are paying him to be there. As for as money goes he is gonna want to wait till Jan 8 to make up his mind. Skip if your reading call Bill Cowher!!!!
Even if UM matches salary they gotta add the buy out! Thats a lot of looking down the road. They don't offer and we win the BSCNC what you think that buy out is gonna be next year? :huh:
