I was traveling through Oklahoma and the talk got to CLM, it was "reported" that there is yet another school that is going to push really hard to get Les to take the helm of thier school. The guy would not reveal the name of the school but did say it was NOT Nebraska, nor R-kansas but did leave the door open to it being the Maggies of atm. I seriously doubt that their could be any real competition besides the Michigan job but I was just curious as to who else could possibly think they have a shot? Any word from the group?
I feel very confident in saying that CLM will not leave for any school other than Michigan. No reason at all to.
Michigan or bust. If he isn't offered the UM job he will be here a looooong time. I'm betting he stays. I think UM will offer the job up to someone else in the next two weeks.
They ma come after him, but that's about it. Even ATM knows they ain't strong enough to pull a coach from LSU.
I absolutely agree, I just found it odd that this clown came on saying there was another dog in the hunt but would not name the dog. I was just wondering if anyone back home had heard any of this non-sense and could shed any light on it. Thanks for your help.
I'm new here, and I'd like to think you're right, but I was wondering. Can you tell me what Coach Miles's current salary is?:miles:
OK, rather than confess ignorance, I did a little Googling and found this: http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071114/SPORTS06/71114008 If that article is accurate, then IF the Tigers win the Nat'l Championship, LSU will be obligated to raise Coach Miles's salary to at least 3 million a year. That greatly simplifies things. There ain't anybody out there who will even think about paying Coach the amount of money the lunatics at Alabama came up with, POSSIBLE exception Michigan. They are the only people in that ball game, and I doubt they're willing to pay Saban money for their next coach. Of course with the Buckeyes constantly rubbing their noses in the dirt, maybe they'll come up with that kind of scratch. Cheers, UM:geaux:
Thanks, I went looking and found an article. The part about making Les a top 3 paid coach if he wins out is very interesting. A number like that will take a lot of wanna-bes out of the discussion.
