WOW!!!!!!!! what a game.... My Girlfriend and I just got home.... we froze our a$$es off but well worth it..... amazing rally.... I thought when Lee threw that Interception with about 9 left in the second the game was over....:geaux:
you're one of the lucky ones to say "I was there" and "I stayed to watch the greatest comeback in LSU history". Congrats. Well done. What percentage of the crowd do you think was left over in the 4th quarter?
lol... well at halftime... it was as if the game was about over.... I would say a good bit left.... although once they started coming back it was amazing... turning point was when we stopped them on 3rd in the middle of the 3rd... and it just went from there... and Jefferson looked amazing... and Lee... as much as I dont like him he played like a champ in the 2nd half.... he is an amazing clutch qb... hope he extends his boundaries because he has potential..
i stayed the whole game, my buddies bailed on me though. i think what sparked was the unsportsmanlike penalty against troy after the failed 4th down conversion. Troy was playing great, but you don't get chippy with LSU. LSU held Troy to a 3 and out and it was all LSU after that point.
I'd say there were MAYBE 25,000 left after it was 31-3. I still don't understand what the spark was. There were a lot of factors. LSU went for it on 4th down, doesn't get it. Troy goes ultra-conservative, and gives the ball back. And the offense showed life. Now, I don't know if anyone outside of the stadium was told about this, but on that drive, the student section started the angel wing flap from Angels in the Outfield. LSU scores, and it catches on. The band is doing it every play, non-stop. LSU scores again, and it spreads around the stadium. The crowd (what is left) starts to get into it on defense, and cheers them on. I would imagine that there was not a single person at this point left who was one of the boo birds. Angels in the Backfield, baby!
Cool story Berge. Must be awesome to be part of such an incredible story. Something you can tell your children and grandchildren many years from now.
I was wondering what the hell they were doing. I heard someone say "I bet the people that left regret it." I said "no, they'll all say that they stayed until the end."
It was also very cool to hear the stadium singing "Livin' on a Prayer" so loud and clear towards the end of the game.
