They do have some for the season ticket holders, however, it is a limited number. If you are not a season ticket holder, or don't know one willing to order them for you, you either stand in line or pay the scalpers. The lines really aren't that bad. We just bring a Styrofoam ice chest that we can throw away and make the best of it. This year the weather was overcast and much cooler than normal so it was quite comfortable waiting in the lines for GA.
VERY limited! in 05 with tulane, there werent even nearly enough for their fans that requested them. so you know how limited they are for lsu fans! the early morning lines for upgrades were down right cold! i froze my ass off! the asu fan i was talking to in the mon morning line was starting to look really cute. and warm. :hihi:
Ok, ASU has those silly yellow hats and yellow socks. Those must not have been trainer beers in your ice chest.
so you have to wait in line to get a GA ticket, then wait in another to be able to get in before it gets full?
You can get the GA tickets all over town. Before we left for the stadium Sat morning, we went to Sam's Club and picked up 2 books of GA tickets. Each book is 10 tickets and sells for $70.00. There are tons of ppl selling GA tickets outside the stadium. The scalpers sell them for $10.00, fans will usually sell them for $7.00.
or if you get lucky and run into fans who are having to leave omaha for one reason or another, they sometimes will sell the ga books really cheap or just give them to you. during the lsu game on mon night i was talking to the usm fans next to us. the guy sitting next to me had played ball at nicholls in the early 90's, was from hattiesburg, was there for the yellow chickens, and was cheering for lsu during our game. i had a book of 8 ga tix in my purse that were just gonna go to waste and make the trip back to oklahoma with me so i gave them to him so he and his bud could go to a couple of more games while they were there. ive had reserved tix just handed to me by another teams fan leaving that was just being nice. i think a lot of people would just rather give away their tix to fans than sell them to scalpers at half face to have the scalpers turn around and sell them over face. but the ga tix are cheap. like i said, i just dont like not playing both lines cause ive not gotten into ga for a game after waiting for 3 hours in line.
After they close the GA gates, they will usually open them again after 2-3 innings. They continue to let more ppl in according to the crowd loads. Every game by the 4th inning there were plenty of seats. I know you miss the beginning, but it's better than nothing!
