hey guys.. just getting back from new orleans via denver via omaha... im sad that i am home since the tigers are rollin' but i met a lot of cool people and all of the fans have been awesome -- except for texass fans. :angryfire all of the locals were extremely happy that the tigers were back in town (and in force.) everyone wanted to talk to us and give us high-fives. oh, and the tigers were great too. i finally got to meet OkieTiger, and she's as great as advertised. i didn't get to meet kylek since the amount of people at the games (!!!) made it hard to get in line for a game AND meet up with ppl. they really need to do something about the GA situation. and, the new stadium NEEDS TO HOLD MORE THAN 30K fans... i think that 40K would be a nice size since the new rosenblatt will be for the CWS ONLY. that is all.
is there still camping overnight for tickets. how long a wait these days? what the hell are you and okie doing home. you should bandwagon next time and go after (if) we win the first 2 games. its the best.
personally, im not happy about being home. if jayb hadnt had to go home for class, and i wasnt getting ready to negotiate how many fb games i will travel down for, i would have suggested he and i camp out in omaha and let me put greenie on a plane with his mom and sis. the ticket line for upgrades started around 3 am i heard. i was running late and didnt get in line till 7:30 (ticket office opened at 10) and there were already 200 people in front of me. the worst part was the scalpers drop people off in the wee hours of the morning and have all of them get their 6 tickets each which drains the available reserved seats for the fans to pay face on and not have to go through scalpers. thats the same cluster it was last time. and i was told by one of the officials when i asked, that you can start camping out at midnight. i think that was the time they said, but i do remember they said it has to be after the last game is over. i'll let jaybe answer the ga line part. he did more ga lines and i did more upgrade lines. ya really gotta have someone in each to be covered.
and let me add... i got to meet and spend time with jayb. that made the trip as special as the tigers winning! and sorry i didnt get to meet kyle too. i agree with jayb. the lines and how long you have to be i either of them makes it impossible to meet people if you are in different lines.
yeah right when the last game is over. those make for some long nights and holding places in line is a bitch. tried telling a friend of mine who had never been scalping is legal in nebraska as long as its a half mile or whatever from the stadium. well at least you guys got us a couple W's and set us up nicely. sucks you cant be there to take home the crown. lets not go overboard.
and thats a crock of sh*t too. they operate with impunity, going up and down the upgrade line right in front of the stadium trying to buy and sell tickets. i was talking to an asu and some usm fans while we were waiting in line and when one asked us if we wanted to buy tickets for the days games, i kinda snapped. (i was tired from standing there all morning and freezing my ass off cause it was cold yesterday morning.) my response was "not if you were the last man on earth". i think they get a lot of rude responses.
to say meeting any person outside of grays espy knows uh is worth more than 2 wins in omaha is downright ridiculous on any level.
oh certainly not enforced and while it pisses you off its simply what the market bears. if you want to go bad enough, you can, yo.
