well, obviously, you have not read my replies in the numerous other threads regarding our hopes/chances of making the NC game. been saying it since the week of Bama game. my comment here is called self-deprecating humor.
Everyone East of the Mississippi knows that BSU would have trouble becoming bowl eligible with an SEC schedule. Unfortunately that's not part of the BCS formula. It will take some unlikely losses ahead of LSU and a win tomorrow to put LSU in the title game.
I vote option C. CBS executives for thinking we want to watch a 5 hour broadcast that is 50/50 game content and commercials. I don't know about you guys, but it's becoming pretty annoying to have these games drag on for so long.
That's the price you pay for the huge contract the SEC signed with CBS & ESPN. Commercials allow CBS & ESPN to recoup their investment.
Part of the BCS formula is to FIND the best 2 teams. Part of that is who and where they play... If it is agreed upon by most of the CFB nation that BSU and TCU have THE EASIEST road to the BCS, then a 1 Loss SEC team should always have that option IMO as long as we are this strong year in and out. Look at it like this Tenn LSU (2) UF(2) Bama and AU 2004 if that matters thats 5 different teams who won/could have won it all out of a conference in the past 12 years. Furthermore, the SEC has 6 of the BCS titles and 4 in a row by 4 different teams. TO leave a 1 loss SEC team out b/c of a BSU/ TCU is just a slap in the face to this sport and all the more reason for a phcuking playoff...
If that was the case we would have played USC in '03 and not an Oklahoma team that had just lost by 28pts. Also if that were true TCU and BSU wouldn't even be ranked in the BCS rankings.
It is the case, but the system, obviously, is flawed. I mean, wasn't the creation of the BCS not to find the best to teams via X amount of Info on said teams?
