That is the reason I love college football. You don't see that in pro stadiums. I think the beatdown i'd like to see the most is Florida (no surprise there right), are you guys playing them at home or away next year?
this isn't really loud, but more a special moment to watch over 100,000 people and players sing the alma mater after the UM game last year. thought someone might think this was cool... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlK3lKQh2WE&feature=related
The author was wrong about that. The crowd noise was during the OT period vs. Arkansas was deafening. The noise was so loud that my ears were ringing (not that it stopped me from screaming my head off as well).
Well he wrote that before the arky game and I don't think anybody would have ever expected arky to go 3 overtimes, but with that said I also thought the Gator game was louder but that is my opinion.
I was going to write something about that, but I decided not to. But here it is: 1) I don't get how anybody would not expect Arkansas to be potential close one. Arkansas, Auburn, and LSU have been the biggest teams in the SEC West in recent years. Our game with Arkansas has been very close many times in recent years. And I especially don't get how everyone wrote off Arkansas this year. Did everybody forget how awesome they were last year? They have 3 of the best backs in the country (RB, RB, and FB), and at least one of the guys they have on OL is predicted to be playing on Sundays. Arkansas could have finished a Top 10 team this year. I won't be surprised if they beat Missouri. In fact, they should beat Missouri (but the team who should win doesn't always win). Missouri is "clicking" better as a team. 2) I don't get how anybody would ever write off any game against Ole Miss, Arkansas, Florida, Auburn, or Alabama, even if their program falls into a slump (like Ole Miss). Those teams, no matter how little talent they have compared to us, will always pose a threat. Those games are always important. Remember how we escaped an upset at the hands of Ole Miss last year by the skin of our teeth? Ole Miss has played LSU close many times in recent history. Ole Miss almost upset Florida this year. 3) I don't get how anybody would write off any other SEC team when were as highly ranked as we were this year. Anytime you are ranked as high as we were this year, it puts a target on your back and everybody gets jacked to play you. Anyway, now that my rant is over, yes of course nothing compared to the experience in the Florida game this year. Those moments when you feel like Tiger Stadium is going to collapse don't happen often. Last time I felt it it was in the 1997 game when we upset #1 Florida. I'm just saying that the Arkansas game this year was deafening, not earth-moving. Deafening happens a lot in Tiger Stadium. Earth-moving is rare. I wish they hadn't got rid of the seismograph in Howe Russell. I'd like to know what other games since 1988 would have registered on it. I think Florida 1997 and Florida 2007 would have registered.
No problem! We have a hell of a tailgate for that game! Of course you have to be able to deal with gator fans as I am the only lsu fan, but it is a blast and the gator fans I go with are top notch! They even have a lsu side of the tailgate for me which brings more lsu fans over to us even if they don't know us! It is a good time had by all and we do it up right!
