There no doubt that in these modern times that the SEC is the best conference in college football. But the Big 12 has Oklahoma and Texas, who have just as much talent as LSU, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. It would be nice to see Nebraska and Texas A&M become powerhouses again, and I think it could easily happen soon if things work out right for them.
It is not hard to go back in history and find ways to defend your program. We all know that Nebraska had great teams in the past, 4 of which beat us in bowl games. We Tiger Fans are currently enjoying living in the present. Last time I checked, Nebraska was a program that could not dream of hiring a head coach from LSU, and was quite proud to have hired one of our coordinators. I really do wish NEB luck, and hope your program improves. And when it does, remember you had to turn to LSU, the team of the decade, for the help.
I thought so as well. But it's not. The poor attendance at this and previous ACC Championships has made the news: For example: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/11/28/AR2007112802242_pf.html http://www.roanoke.com/sports/vtfootball/wb/141950 etc
Since lsu's stadium only held 67,720 ,70000 plus in 1976 is pretty good dont you think? I was at that game in 1976...Nebraska had one of the greatest names in sports history at I back I. M. Hipp...geez..his parents must have gone to the Frank Zappa school of child name picking
We should all give thanks that we are not like #14 Boston College: This season, BC ended the regular season with hopes of making a more high-profile bowl, such as the Chick-fil-A Bowl [formerly, the Peach Bowl]. But Clemson was chosen despite finishing second to BC in the Atlantic Division because the Eagles' fans aren't known to travel in large numbers. BC also missed out on the ACC's Gator Bowl berth, which went to Coastal Division runner-up Virginia. That is how they got stuck in the Champs Sports Bowl this year. Their last bowls were the Continental Tire Bowl, the MPC Computers Bowl and the Meineke Bowl.
