Cliff well put and I agree 100%. I was just currious if you had anyone off the bat in mind. Yours points there though are dead on. I have heard some say Mike Leach but I dont know how well that would work.

West quoting Dandy Don is like quoting Miles to Michigan per ESPN. You gotta get a better source. And by the way Miles will and SHOULD be here for YEARS to come.

Bottom line on this thread is that you can't defend Gary on how he got this team ready for 2009. We had a top RB , top WR , and top TE to work with.

As you watched the 1st half of the Cap One Bowl that is Gary for 2009. It's almost sick to think with all the new talent that we never saw and with a great young QB with a Red-shirt on that you never got one thing working.

Look guys I am a aggressive guy and no way I sit and just take this if I am CLM! I would have pulled the Red-shirt off my young QB and got him moving.

I would have seen I had QB problems and OC problems. Since I used to be a OC I would have took over. I love CLM as a person but this is all weak.

I don't want my Tigers to just be good! We should be looking for great every year and we better get better as the year moves on. This year CLM let me down and GC should be fired period. If he is not I expect CLM and GC to get fired at the same time. Hate to be that dark but it happens to rock head coaches all the time!!

He wouldn't have coached the bowl game.

That is an extremely flawed argument. You have no way of knowing, or even having any idea for that matter, how good Garret would be this season. Can you give Miles at least the smallest bit of credit that maybe, just maybe, he might have a better idea of how prepared his true freshman quarterback is than you? Last thing you should want is to launch Garret down the same path that we sent Lee, especially since anything you say about how much he could have improved this team is 100% speculation. And, since you have much less information on the topic, we have to assume that Miles would be better at speculating Garrett's success than you would.

I don't have an issue with criticism, and Miles has deserved a decent bit of it this year (and Crowton deserves a lot), but what really bugs me is the sort of snowball effect that comes with this criticism. There are plenty of things that we could be questioning this coaching staff about, but lets at least try to be logical, and rational with these inqueries. They tend to get out of hand, and overly agressive very quickly.

And sorry Cliff if it seems like I was lecturing, or comming after you in particular, that wasn't my intention. This was a lot more of a growing frustration from the seemingly increasingly obnoxious accusations.

So, you'd sit JJ, JL and RS... burn the redshirt off your last QB, throw him to the wolves and set him up to fail miserably? What a hell of a head coach you'd make, thank God CLM knows better than you.
And for your secoond part... CLM knows he has obvious issues at both QB and his OC... and since the offense has pretty much sucked it up until the second half... how do you know that isn't the result of CLM taking the reigns late in the game to save the W?

Like most winning coaches I would have looked at what I had and made a call. Today I would sit in front of you guys knowing I had done everything I could to get better!

I could have only done that if I felt what I had in the freshmen class could have gave me a better chance to win.

I am not going to keep a red-shirt on a guy if I feel he can turn into something better than what I got by the end of the year!
