Yeah, I'm from around the New Orleans area and a bunch of people ask me where I'm from. Hell, people from New Orleans sometimes ask me where I'm from. I had one lady ask if I was from Canada. So I think the way of talking around here is hard to capture. It's like a pot of gumbo with all kinds of stuff thrown in. You go five minutes down the road and you have another set of people talking different. Well, for once I can say I'm in agreement with Bama fans then. Well, I don't really hate the guy or know who the hell he really is, but I thought his act was relatively terrible. There is something about feminine looking guys trying to act feminine that doesn't come off that well. I mean, did he really need to "act" feminine when imitating LSU fans. We all know he likely has Clay Aiken's "Homo for the Holidays" disc spinning 24/7 come Christmas time. It's like a rapper trying to act dumb. There's no need for acting.
I have two friends who are also good friends with each other. Phil is from Brooklyn and Charles grew up in the Irish Channel. They argue all the time. I love to hear it and they both sound like they grew up in the same neighbrhood
yeah, i once had a person in texas ask me if i was from new york and i don't really think i have any kind of accent despite growing up in metairie and mandeville however when i get around people that talk that way i probably mesh into their accent. just like my wife and her country family.
