Yea, he must be pretty good if the coaches let him commit.

I don't know too much about him at the moment. Can anybody share some insight?

All-State O-Lineman who is projected to be four stars. Hadn't seen any vids and don't know more than that- you probably knew that much already.

Here is an article from last year when he attended an Ole Miss camp. I thought he would be a D-Linemen but maybe the coaches want him on the O-line. Plus he goes to school with Rueben Randle.

Coach Holmes is also very high on his 2007 All-State offensive lineman, Joshua Downs.

"He is a kid that measured in at 6' 1", 278 at the (Ole Miss) camp. Joshua won DL MVP for the underclassmen at the Ole Miss camp, and Michael won DL MVP for the upperclassmen. But Joshua made All-State for us at offensive tackle as a sophomore. He will only be a junior for us next year. Any time a kid makes All-State as a sophomore on our team, that pretty much speaks for itself. Joshua is moving over to defensive tackle this season. We want to fill Lamarcus Williams' spot with Joshua. He is just an extremely strong kid, and his first step is phenomenal. Coach Neilsen at Ole Miss could not believe how quick his first step was. He is just so quick, and he uses his hands well. Joshua also has great flexability in his hips. He flips his hips as good as any linemen I have been around. He will be more of the more highly recruited kids in our state next year."

I have seen him play twice and both times I was amazed by his quickness off the ball. He does not look like a physical speimen but I think his technique and quickness will allow him to be an extremely effective guard in college. I mean the kid really looked to be at a completely different level than any other lineman on the field, which seems obvious considering the coaches allowed him to commit in a year of limited schollies.

This seems to echoe what the coaches thought at the Ole Miss camp.

Looks like he is a true Center if he stays on the OLine, where as Orelus has grown into an OG.

Right on the money. He was totally disruptive and he looked way bigger than 260. He has a motor that doesn't stop and he takes no plays off. I hope he stays on defense, but they say he is better on offensive line. The guy is so talented he made all-state as an offensive lineman his sophmore year and then turned around and made all-state on defensive-line his junior year. Put him anywhere and he will dominate. This also bodes very well with that freak Reuben Randle who is the best receiver I have ever seen at the high school level in person. Just makes it look so easy and his fluid motion that goes with his height and weight is incredible. Bastrop, West Monroe, and I pray to God Ouachita will be a major pipeline now.
