Relapses Texas Rangers' Josh Hamilton acknowledges lapse in sobriety, photographs - ESPN Josh Hamilton Drunk Bar Photos for what it's worth, i think Josh has come a long way, and why is it that alcoholism and drug addiction are still not considered diseases by most people. Mitch Hedburg used to say, alcoholism is the only disease you will get yelled out for having. I hope Josh gets it together because the Rangers really need his bat down the stretch, hopefully he can get out of his slump at the plate, and maybe this had something to do with it.
I believe the lapse happened in January or at least thats what I hear on ESPN (or thought I heard), so that would be one hell of a hangover if it was still affecting him at the plate.
i was only talking about the weight of the incident hanging over his shoulders, its still unclear whether or not his wife knew in january, he had to have known the media would get ahold of it eventually. now that its behind him i hope he can get out of this slump he is in.
FYI, since this was reported, Josh is batting .517 (15-29), with five doubles, seven RBI, five runs, three walks, and seven two-out RBI. Josh even had a stretch earlier in the week in which he got 10 hits in 11 at-bats.
