Josh Beckett Jobbed

C.C. Fatbackia wins the AL Cy Young. Unbelieveable. C.C. was good this year but Josh was beyond good, he cemented a legend.

The surprising thing to me is it really wasn't that close.

 

Sabathia was 19-7 with a 3.2
Beckett was 20-7 with a 3.2

postseason doesn't count in this award (although it should).

so it's debatable either way.

 

yeah... i can see giving it to CC, but you're right. I expected a close race either way.

 

sabathia got it because he went 40+ more innings than beckett.

it would be diff if postseason counted but it doesnt. wins are so arbitrary, it is not a very telling stat.

 

I agree totally, but you know damn well the people who vote take it into account.

Just look how much acclaim you get for being in the "20-win club" or the "300-win club", etc...

 

If they vote after the post season, how can they not, at least subliminally, consider it?

 

I could be wrong, but I think they turn in the ballots when the season ends, then just don't announce until now.
