This guy is awesome. Looks great on film but I see his forty time isn't bad @ 4.6. Is JJ a dual threat QB?

not really. I mean, if he is flushed out, he can get a 1st down like Russell, but he won't be running any sort of spread option or anything.

It's the same speed as Flynn.

But that doesn't really mean anything. Russell was about 4.7 I think but he just lumbered when he ran (although it was like a mack truck coming at you at the same time).

Flynn has great feet and finesse when he runs, so his 4.6 looks faster since he is so athletic. So the question is whether Jefferson is more like the athletic Flynn or the lumbering Russell.

    thoughts, Clair?

Hopefully he develops a helluva lot faster than Russell.

not as clumsy as Russell, but not nearly as athletic as Flynn.

Imagine Ben Roethlisberger. He can run a little... enough to get out of trouble, but he isn't a burner.

    egad, Big Ben.

    that's not good.

I prefer Russell's running ability over Ben.

How about Boeckman? You know the guy who can't run to save his life (whoever said that is an idiot, btw).

he runs better than Russell. I am just trying to think of a guy who runs only when he absolutely has to, but is pretty good in doing so.

I guess Boeckman is an example. Andre Woodson, too.

oh yeah, damn those guys who win the game for the team in the 1st game they play as a freshman and who go 11-2 as a sophomore and 11-2 as a junior.
