just won the state title. Was anyone there? the guys on the news said he had the best individual game they ever saw in the dome, but I don't know if that was just b/s or not. either way, I have followed Destrehan real close this year and the kid is a stud. He doesn't get the hype RP got, but I really think he is better than Perrilloux was in high school.
I've heard he has nearly unlimited upside. Hopefully thats the case. He seems to be a very underrated guy by the recruiting sites.
I watched Perrilloux 6-7 times in high school and watched this kid roughly the same amount, and yeah, I really think Jefferson is better. Perrilloux's stats are far, far better, but only because ESJ had a habit of running up the score. perrilloux just did unrealistic things. Like roll left, roll right, then roll back left, etc... You just knew that stuff wouldn't fly in college. Destrehan calls off the dogs whenever they can and run a far more pro-style system. Also, Destrehan got to the pinnacle and won the title. East St. John never even got close to the dome. I love RP more than anyone. (My 1st days on this forum were telling everyone that he is an LSU lock), but I like this Jefferson kid a tad more.
He is definitely a great pick up. I like him a lot. But I think one reason why he might not be so highly rated is that he does have a lot of talent around him. But I think recruiting sites will definitely take notice and I was listening to some of the game on the radio and I think I heard that there was a guy from Rivals there. Btw, Jefferson threw a 60 yard pass to Tim Molton, another LSU commit, who ran another 20 yards for a 80 yard touchdown. Also Jefferson converted a two point conversion by throwing it to Molton as well. Stats: Jordan Jefferson had 230 yards passing, 2 TDs, and also 1 rushing TD. Molton finished with an 80 yard touchdown catch and a 2 point conversion.
Here is my two cents: He has a big time arm, but I hear some recruiting sites are worried that he relies too much on his superior talents and will not be able to get away with that at the next level, for example throwing up jump balls down field and letting superior talented WRs, like Molten go up and Randy Moss the other team. My response to that is that every player LSU recruits is going to be physically superior to 99.99999% of the players they go up against. Therefore, there is always some question about what they will do at the next level when the talent pool is more level. Personally, I love what I hear about the kid. He works hard and loves the game and should grow into a big time QB especially with the talent he will have around him in Baton Rouge. (2)
JJ stood out tonight. He completely controlled the game. Acadiana would go on long drives, then JJ would move Destrehan down the field in a few plays. It did seem he threw the ball up a few times, but there is no question about his arm strength and leadership qualities. Under the right coaching, he seems to have all the equipment to be a big time contributor. Lee will have some competition, a few years down the road.
Lee/JJ look like the new Flynn/Russells Should be a nice battle for the next QB(after RP wins a hesiman and moves on the the nfl:thumb: )
