If Jared Lee came out and threw 3 TD passes and moved the ball against Bama he'd still be playing right now. But he didn't. He got rattled and threw 2 really awful picks in a row.
Here's my take on the entire article and situation. Jordan Jefferson was the leader of the offense and this team. He had absolutely no business being at that bar a week or 2 weeks before the Oregon game. I don't give a damn about the dude in the hospital, screw him, he should have kept his mouth shut. My whole issue is with the fact that your senior leader was out past curfew, with a few days left until the season started. He sounds like a crybaby punk in that article, and frankly I will dance a jig when he is gone. He should have apologized to his team, for not being the leader he was supposed to be. If anything he should have been at home on his phone, calling and texting every one of his teammates, telling them to get their asses home.
I think the ironic part of the Shady's situation is that JJ was "being a leader" by going out with his teammates and embracing the end of two a days tradition. His role in the alleged incident may have also been traits of a leader as it's rather clear (now) that the "victims" were punks starting stuff with JJ's teammates. The article is also obviously slanted towards the writer's agenda. I will admit that I've seen JJ "pouting" at times during his career. I probably would've been also if I had to spend three years leading Crowton's offense. If you can't enjoy JJ's success this year and the fact that he's OUR starting QB for the Bama game, I empathize with all of you. I'm also a big Jarrett Lee fan and it would be nice for him to contribute in the game. I love both QBs and they have represented themselves well for their entire careers (including the Shady's situation based on the information available).
I have to respectfully disagree. A real leader would have made sure his teammates weren't breaking rules set by a man who has bent over backwards for him. Les Miles.
Maybe, although I'm guessing (?) Miles knew about the tradition and didn't have a problem with it. Most of my opinions are based on attempts to sort through all of the internet rumors and not always privy to the facts of the situation.
Yes all in a 5 by 7 dorm and share 1 bathroom. Im willing to bet they all have this new invention called the "cell phone" though.
Yes he is supposed to call everyone on the roster. Sing the alma mater, and keep detailed records of who answered and who didn't.
The article was written by Dan Wolken, those of us in Memphis could tell everyone just to disregard. Just imagine a younger, less informed Guilbeau who grew up in Arkansas and went to Vandy.
