Problem is, you have NO IDEA why Lee didn't play anymore than he has the last 4 games. Yet YOU brought up the JJ stats without any regard for the reason.
Okay...take a deep breath and then read the title of the thread. It reads..."JORDAN JEFFERSON PASSING ABILITY" So what's your point? I brought up JJ's passing stats in a thread titled...once again..."JORDAN JEFFERSON PASSING ABILITY". I want the guy to succeed but I'm not going to pretend he's a well-rounded QB simply because he wears an LSU uniform. He's a running QB first, second, and last. We've treied to have him throw to keep the defense honest but he just doesn't have that skill set. When our WRs smoke the secondary he'll complete an occasional pass. Other than that it's just not going to happen very often. That's why we need four more quarters from him. He won't be moving on to the NFL, CFL, AFL, or any other football. We need him to run, run, run, for one more game.
Go back and read all the messages in this thread. YOU brought up Lee...not me. This isn't about Lee vs. Jefferson. This is about Jefferson.
Fair enough. But what's the point of the discussion if there's no better option available? And my point about "creative stats" is this: You took JJ's numbers, but only against the two toughest defenses we've faced ALL SEASON. Not just the two toughest we've faced since JJ started playing. My point was and is, take their stats (altogether), and they aren't very different. In fact, if you wanna remove something, take out both of their worst games started this year. UGA for JJ, and whoever for Lee. THEN compare. That's a fair comparison, since Lee didn't have to face any hard defenses. None. Except 1/2 against Alabama...same as JJ. I'm only a fan of either of them because they wear P&G. Otherwise, neither would be my pick to lead my team at QB. But they are who we have, and we're doing OK, I 'spose. Thank God it's a team game, but that said, it's a team game. QB is the most important position for most teams, but this team is so great, I could QB the team and they'd STILL win it all.
A midget football league coach comes on here and tells us how to really play offense in the SEC and all you Lee lovers jump on his jock. Hey "Coach". 13-0.
I understand you but I'm not comparing the two. I just want tom know if JJ will be ready for the BCS championship. I chose Alabama & Georgia because I expect to play Alabama again so there's no use in looking at stats from games against Ole Miss, Western Kentucky, etc. Against quality defenses JJ struggles because it really illustrates how one-dimensional he is. I'm not the coach but I do have faith in Miles. I don't know what transpired with Lee but it's apparent it has nothing to do with JJ's ability. If so he would've seen the bench yesterday. I hoped for both QBs to continue playing so teams would need to prepare for both. Who knows...maybe they'll prepare for JJ and JL will start. I doubt it but trying to figure out Les is impossible. Alabama prepared for Lee and ended up with Jefferson. They did a pretty good job stopping him even though they weren't prepared to face him. I worry they will prepare for him and force him into more difficult situations than he faced last time. I just know he was way off on his throws and would've had two INTs yesterday if UGA could've held on to the ball. We've got to find a way to move the chains. I would prefer having Wing trying to down the ball inside the 10 instead of kicking from our 10. I want to win and I think the best chance of winning will be via defense and special teams. The offense needs to avoid mistakes. Some only consider turnovers when discussing mistakes by the offense. I also consider the failure to move the chains and run the clock as mistakes. We can't expect the defense to remain on the field for 20 minutes in a half like yesterday.
Well JJ is 2-1 against Alabama, 2-0 against UGA. The 1 loss was only a decent LSU team against a great Bama team that went on to win it all, with a Heisman winner. Guy's got a pretty good record against these teams. Admittedly, he did little to BEAT UGA yesterday. OK, he did NOTHING to beat UGA. But what he DIDN'T do against UGA or Alabama is important, especially when your team thrives on defense and special teams to win games. He didn't turn it over. Almost doesn't count, either. Seriously, I realize Saban is a football GOD, but Alabama can't contain the option. Look what Ga State did to them...a D 1 AA school. 300+ yds rushing and 21 points. I'd venture to guess if JJ had played the entire game against Bama, we wouldn't be playing them again in NOLA. There would've been no doubt the first time.
Jordan Jefferson is our quarterback on our team headed to the National Championship. I watch the games on DVR, always on Sunday or later, without emotion, cause I know the score. In this environment, I conclude Jefferson is a poor passer. Slow on reads, looks, still bewildered, and frequently very poor passes. Occasionally, he throws some great passes, but very inconsistent. If you watch an option team, and there are not that many, you also realize how limited his option plays are. Some of the pitches are ridiculous. Having stated that, we are going to the championship, he is our quarterback, and I pull for him 100%. That doesn't mean I think he is real good, but he is our quarterback. Geaux Jordan Jefferson and the LSU Tigers
