It's sad but after four years he's still playing high school football but with an awesome supporting cast. The option which was a disaster the past two years and looked much better but he still hasn't progressed in passing, thinking, clock management, or reading defenses. Hopefully we can overcome his shortcomings for four more quarters. A few more TDs by special teams and the defense would be nice!
For the record I have FULL faith in Les Miles will do what he thinks is right to win. He has earned that from all us. The guy is a winner and a great representative of our state and LSU. I cannot think of a single person I would want as HC besides him. yes I often wonder "Why not put in JL" but at the end of the day the score was 42-10. I also realize he has forgotten more about football than I will ever know.
I guess people are worried because most of those points were a result of special teams and the defense. When the offense only needs 17 and 21 yards to reach the endzone and we're scoring TDs while our offense is on the bench, we're putting up big numbers. People are worried about repeat performances like the first half yesterday with ZERO first downs. We don't need a ton of points but do need to move the chains and eat clock.
The most frustraing thing about Jefferson is that he never stays hot. He had wonderful games vs GTHOM (of course, so would I) and Arkansas, but then came into this one and really stunk the place up. Putting a streak of great games would go a long way to making everyone believe in him. Of course, at this point all he needs to do is put one in a row and he gets a really big ring for himself and all of his teammates. GEAUX TIGERS
It's all been a setup by Miles for the NCG! Jefferson learned how to throw the deep ball from Krags during the spring but they have him sandbagging so we could be Bama the second time in the NCG by turning into the Houston Cougars. :hihi:
Huh, don't think it hadn't crossed my mind that Miles could be setting up Saban for a shocker. All the while telling Lee, "You're going to get another shot and you're going to end your career redeeming yourself." Then I remember that would not be wise being he hasn't played a meaningful down in many moons.
The only thing that gives me some piece of mind. Is when JJ has weeks to prepare is he really really good (See GT, A&M, etc) So I am HOPING with 5 weeks to watch film, prepare etc it may be better. But Bama is WAY to good for him to be sitting back there trying to figure out what to do. But I have faith, LSU scores from Defense and ST as much as O. Its who we are.
He has started 30+? games and I can't think of more than a couple I would consider "wonderful". I just want ONE solid game in January! :thumb:
