Does anybody know why Jefferson climbed from 3 star to 4 star, and from 19th all the way to 10th in the nation in the pro-style QB position?
Rivals was slow at getting film on him might be one reason. He had a great year and the offers were growing. He lead him team to a win in the state championship and showed he had the "it" factor. Probably a few other reasons that I am sure Parso will get to.
Wow. I wish I had know that, i would have been at the Dome watching that game. Yes, he lead Destrehan to a 15-0 season, blowing out Acadiana 41-21 for the 5A State Championship!!! That's an awesome background story for an LSU QB recruit. Destrehan has always been a powerhouse, but they haven't won the State Championship since 1973. In that game, J. Jefferson completed 10 of 13 passes for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns of 80 and 33 yards. He also rushed for 40 yards and a touchdown. Did someone say above that his receiver has also committed to LSU? This WR Damaris Johnson guy? The article I'm reading only notes that QB J Jefferson has committed to LSU. As for WR Damaris Johnson, he was named the MVP of the state championship game, as he rushed for 94 yards on only 5 carries and scored on touchdowns of 12 and 16 yards. He also caught four passes for 44 yards.
You are thinking about WR Tim Molton. Yes, he is a LSU commit as well. Next year we should pick up the Junior WR from Destrahan.
Does anybody, off the top of their head, remember what RP did at East Saint John (or whatever high school he went to in that area). Did he ever take his team to the championship game or win it? I'll look it up eventually before next season when RP is our starter. He has impressed the hell out of me every time I've seen him play this season. During the SEC CG, the announcers were even drooling over him. I loved it.
Off the top of your head, did Molton do anything fantastic in the championship game? What about during this season?
East St. John made it to the quarterfinals and regional 2 or 3 times while he was there. He was by far the best athlete in the state toward the end of his HS career which obviously made him the #1 recruit in the nation. Here are the Junior and Molton's WR stats before the championship game. Molton had 165 yds and a TD in the championship. Molton was double covered most of the year leading to Johnson having better stats this past year.
